I cannot wait...

....Sunday to post a song.
Today I went through almost all the Simply Red's production, just to find my favorite.
It was a hard task, I like very much a bunch of their most famous songs.
(i.e. Holding back the years, Money's to tight to mention, The right thing,.....)
At the end I decided for this one, probably it's not the top, but it's quite funny to me and the video too.
Plus I love the rhythm.
Now I'm wondering if I'm becoming like those old guys who stick only with the music of 'their times'.
What do you think? just shake your head, I'll see you ;)
Next week I'll post Katy Perry, 'kay?
For now enjoy!

Favorite quote: I feel you...I hope you comprehend :D

Kid's funny words and (Saturday) Sunday Song.

Big Sister to Little Brother: Hey don't touch the blood on the butcher's paper.
Little Brother: it's not blood!
Big Sister: yes it is!
Little Brother: no, it's not!
Big Sister: so what is it?
Little Brother: it's meat juice!

If you don't know it, I was a teenager in the '80, and this was one of my favorite song, but no, I didn't have a crush on anyone of this group.

Well enjoy!

(I had a crush on Andrew Ridgley of the Wham!
The one o the right.
Do you remember the Wham?
Ah youth!)

A neat-freak wannabe.

Warning: I'm going to vent, so if you don't want to hear me complaining, please stay away!
I would like to be a perfect housekeeper, but sadly I'm not, I'm too much a slacker.
I don't want to pass all my day cleaning and tiding.
Nonetheless I would like my home to be always clean and tidy.
Do you feel my pain?
One thing that helps me in this almost impossible accomplishment, is having less stuff.
I love to get rid of unnecessary things.
But my family members are not of the same idea, oh no, they are keepers.
Today I will analyze my 13 years old girl.
She loves keeping all kind of stuff, garbage, papers, broken earrings, all kind of souvenir from the past, even clothes labels, got it?
And she's proud of it, but usually I let her "take care" of her own room, that means almost nothing.
However, today I decided to clean her bedroom thoroughly to make her a surprise, since she doesn't like to clean at all, I don't know who she resemble.
Well after two hours I haven't even finished and I'm dead tired.
That's all, thank you for listening ;)
P.s.: Besides today it's her birthday and that was intended to be one of my gifts, half failed.

That number who grows (or not ).

Today I was leaving a very sour comment on SITS, because they were asking if we have been roll calling or not.
Then I erased it.
I explain.
SITS it's a site for support among bloggers, people there are encouraged to visit fellow bloggers and leave some comments.
Almost everyday they feature one blog, thus driving to it a lot of traffic and followers.
If you want to be featured (which I don't) you have to comment at least 2/3 times a week on SITS and on other occasions on the blog that's ahead of you on the comments list.
And on the featured blog of the day.
In a certain way I appreciate this idea, because let's say, almost everybody loves comments, it makes you feel read, appreciated, and that you write with a purpose.
When I read something that I like, or find interesting, I leave a comment because I want that they have a sign of appreciation.
And I like to receive comments as well.
But what I don't like are meaningless comments, like hey I've been here; that's what you get when you force people to comment even when they don't have anything to say.
BUT, I've done it a few times. Why? you ask ( do you ask it, right?).
Because I wanted people to know me, to head to my blog, to like what I write.
Be patient, I get to the point.
Why do I want people visit me and find me interesting?
Of course because I like some interaction, but a good part of my desire was for that little number of followers to grow up.
Now I say that damn small number.
Because I have to admit it, when I see bloggers who have hundred of followers I get a bit jealous, and if I don't have the same ( how many is the same I don't know ) I feel that I'm not worthy.
So now may be you understand why I erased the comment on SITS.
Because I realized that I was doing the same.
A few times I "compromised" myself for that damn number.
What I said in that comment ( erased ) was that I prefer a few REAL followers, than a meaningless huge number.
Now I'm in peace with myself, because now I know it's true.

An amazing thing that happened to me, people with a beautiful heart and on how life works.

It all started today, well actually I don't know when all started ... today checking my comments I found one from Natasha of 5 minutes just for me, who told me that she had an award for me on her blog.
I'm not an award person, however I took it as an unexpected sign of appreciation and was very pleased, so I went to her blog, picked up my award, left a comment and had some exchange of emails with her.
She's definitely a friendly kind of gal, and her sweet words impressed me a lot.
Actually every spontaneous random act of kindness, makes me emotional. ( I cry )
However, I was pondering how she's kind and generous and loving, it would have been nice to reciprocate in some manner.
I thought to create some kind of 'sweetest blogger' banner or something like this, featuring the image of sugar, or honey or cake, you know...
And here start the awesome thing, checking my blog again I saw another comment by Laxmi, a blogger who I encountered yesterday, I liked her blog, the way she writes, the things she says, her beautiful pictures, so I followed and left some comment.
She had an award for me too and when I went to her blog I found this:

I was shocked.
Well, I'm prone to think that we are all energy, we are all a whole, nonetheless it amazed me.
And she had such nice words for me.
So, since she created that banner, I decided to create another one for all the outstanding beautiful hearts that I met while blogging, which I was thinking to do for some time.
Here you are:

I found the picture with google and edited the words.
These are the bloggers that have shown me their beautiful hearts, till now, in no particular order:
Mountain Woman
Mama Zen
Thank you girls!
And another amazing thing, this is what my horoscope says for today:
Warmth and affection
Weak, transient effect: It is unfortunate that this influence is so brief, because it gives you such a pleasant sense of well-being. Tonight you feel very warm and friendly to the people around you, and you are willing to offer emotional or physical support to anyone who needs it. You are generous and giving. People will warm to you, and you should get from others exactly what you give, that is, warmth and affection. You are likely to attract basically happy and positive people with whom you will have an enjoyable time. This is not the result of a "Pollyanna" view of reality that refuses to recognize trouble and pain in the world, but of a real sense of belonging and oneness with others. In a very important sense you feel that helping others helps you. On another level this influence indicates a concern with the general welfare.

I think this is the longest post I've ever written.
Thank you if you read it all, really!

5 Question Friday.

To participate click on the icon that lead to MamaM blog to read the rules.

Soo this is my second time here, I don't know for how many times I will keep the count, however, this week I saw something intriguing.

1. What is the first nightmare you remember?
I was 8 years old I think, and it was about a bunch of flies, I hate bugs.

2. Even if you're not a sports fan, what's your favorite sport to play/watch?
I'm not a sport's gal, but if I was forced to watch some sport I would say:
now you know how old I am.

3. If you could pull off one piece of trendy fashion, what would you want it to be (jeggings, hats, thigh high boots, etc.)?

4. Did you make good grades in school?
What was the question again?

5. What magazines do you subscribe to?
What's a magazine?
No well, "once upon a time" I subscribed to interiors magazines, do you know that I love furniture?
But now with all the free resources online and all the blogs I read daily it would seem to me a bit pointless, besides, half of the magazines it's all advertising.
Shame on me for not supporting the economy.

A beach cottage.

Imagine living in a cottage on the beach.

Imagine living in Australia.

Imagine having a great taste.

Imagine a laid back yet classy style.

She has it all.
Sarah over at A Beach Cottage, go and see yourself.
When by chance I stumbled upon her blog I fell in love with it, its beautiful photos and dreamy atmosphere.

Lately I have this thing with Australia, I don't know why.

However Sarah, I have to say it:

Sunday Song

The first time I heard this song, I was watching a movie.
The movie itself was not so exceptional, in fact I don't even remember the title, but this song, oh I fell in love with it.
Unfortunately there wasn't the embed code on Youtube, so here's the link:
Somewhere over the rainbow - Iz Kamakawiwo'ole
P.s. don't mind if I wrote Sunday Song while it's still Saturday, in the www strange things happen ;)

Zucchini quiche (warning: millimetric accuracy NOT required)

This is a delicious recipe and easy if you buy frozen or ready puff pastry.
Ingredients for 4 hungry people, or 6 less hungry:
Frozen or ready puff pastry, I used 2 rolls, about 0,5 pounds each, but if you want to make it from scratch I won't prevent you.
4 eggs
1/5 cup buttermilk ( or cream )
2 handful (I love my preciseness) of a mild grated cheese
3 tbs grated parmisan
3 medium zucchini
some ( to taste ) ham or mortadella cut in stripes or chopped ( optional ), actually I prefer without but today it went in.
1 or more garlic clove
extra virgin olive oil or other (oil, butter...only edible ones)
pepper (optional)

Here we go...
Following the package directions, I thawed my puffy pastry rolls, and I lined with them a slightly oiled oven tray, pressing in the middle to glue them together.
But you can use two smaller pans.
Don't cut the exceeding dough, unless you want a quiche too neat.

I finely sliced 3 medium zucchini, obviously I don't need to say that I previously washed and cleaned them well.
I put some ( 2/3 tbs of extra virgin olive oil ) in a non sticky pan, added the zucchini slices, some finely chopped parsley, a pinch of salt, one ( or to taste ) garlic clove finely chopped, and stir fried till tender.

In a bowl I put eggs, buttermilk, grated cheese, salt and pepper.

I whisked well with a fork.

I evenly distributed the zucchini and the mortadella stripes over the dough.

Poured the egg batter over all and let cook in the oven at 428°F (220°C) for half an hour, more or less.

Easy, yes?
P.s. Hubby said it was good.
And in Italy, when something absolutely exceptional happens, we say "tomorrow it will snow", so beware, haha.
